Pacific Vision Rental Plan.
Pacific Vision has recently started a Rental Plan for Vision aids. This is a way to immediately have the use of such equipment but not having to pay for it all at once. Rental Plans start for as little as $2.85 / day.
The equipment that can be hired:
A Topaz electronic magnification device with a reading table and a 19 or 22” height-adjustable monitor. Anything you put on the reading table will be magnified up to 60x. Very easy to use. PC connectivity kit available.

An Onyx electronic magnification device with a reading table, 19 or 22” monitor and an omni-directional camera for reading up close or viewing in the distance. The Onyx comes in a trolley case.

A Sara scan-and-read device for printed material. Place a page of text on the scanner, press a button and it will read the text at you using a clear, synthetic voice.

Further information
- Work and Income New Zealand may pay the rental amount for you.
- The unit becomes your property after 5 years, unless you want a newer unit.
- Payments are done monthly by automatic payment.
- You do not have to be a member of any organisation to rent the equipment.
- No long waiting lists.
- Available in the Auckland, Hamilton and Nelson regions. If you live in another region, give us a call anyway, we'll see what is possible.
